October 14, 2008

A residential structure fire was dispatched at 0916 hrs. Within 5 minutes Engine 1 and Wagon 1 were on the scene of the first due working fire. Engine 1 stretched an attack line while Wagon 1 reverse laid to the closest hydrant 300 feet past the address on Moter Ave. After knocking down the fire, Captain Kennedy and Firefighter Gonzales were able to rescue 10 dogs which included 4 two week old puppies. Engine 8 arrived and assisted with overhaul. The fire was contained to the laundry room and kitchen. Further investigation revealed the source of the fire was the dryer.

Units: Engine 1, Wagon 1, Squad 1, Engine 8, Medic 115
