Units were dispatched to a two-vehicle MVA with confirmed entrapment. Responding personnel included the Volunteers from Company 1, CCFR, AP Hill Medic 8, along with Caroline County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and Virginia State Police (VSP).

Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle off the left side of the roadway resting on a mailbox post, with significant damage to the driver’s side and the rear of the vehicle elevated. Two occupants were still inside. Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle using Paratech struts and cribbing before successfully extricating the passengers through the passenger-side door.

The second vehicle was found overturned with four occupants; some of whom were able to self-extricate prior to fire department arrival. Squad 1 stabilized the vehicle and assisted the remaining occupants out through the sunroof and windshield.

We appreciate the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies in providing timely and effective emergency care to those involved.

Units: Chief 10, Squad 1, Engine 1, Utility 1, Medic 1-1. Medic 2-1, Medic 10-1, Bat-1, CCSO, VSP

Mutual Aid: Fort A.P. Hill Medic 8
