By Firefighter Adam Woolridge
May 27, 2010

Just after midnight on May 27, Engine 1 responded to a motor vehicle accident at the 107 mile marker on Interstate 95. The call was for a vehicle down the embankment. On scene it was determined that the driver of a minivan had fallen asleep at the wheel and ended up on the wrong side of the guard rail. Before she could stop the vehicle, she had found herself at the bottom of the twenty foot embankment, in a creek. No one was injured- not even the two dogs who were along for the ride. Engine 1 crews assisted with vehicle recovery efforts.

Units: Engine 1, Rescue 2
