By Chief John Bradford Thomas
July 4, 2008

After responding to two DOA's, two brush fires, a tractor trailer fire, a vehicle accident, and a residential structure fire, the Bowling Green Volunteers finally found time to relax and enjoy the 4th of July festivities. The department staffed all apparatus and was on standby for the fireworks display at Caroline High School. B-1 also handled two more small fires created by the fireworks show. The members and families were able to enjoy good food and good company at the department's annual picnic. We also welcomed members from Bowling Green Rescue, Ladysmith Rescue, Frog level Rescue, Ladysmith Fire, Frog Level Fire, and Caroline County Fire & Rescue. I appreciate the participation from the department and look forward to it again next year.

Units: Engine 1, Wagon-1, Squad-1, Tower-1, Brush-1, Utility-1, MCI-1, Medic 114, Medic 115
