Welcome to the Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Department

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Department’s website. Established in 1947, our department proudly serves the citizens of Caroline County, Virginia, as part of the Caroline County Fire & Rescue Department—a dedicated combination fire and rescue service.

Located 30 miles north of Richmond, Virginia, the Town of Bowling Green serves as the heart of our county. Each year, our volunteer firefighters and rescue personnel respond to approximately 1,000 emergency calls, providing fire suppression, rescue operations, advanced life support (ALS), basic life support (BLS) emergency medical services, and public fire education and prevention. Our dedicated team of over 50 members, in collaboration with Caroline County Fire & Rescue staff, works tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

Our department is funded through a combination of county budget allocations and the generous donations of the citizens we proudly serve.
