Career Plans

Continue my professional growth as a fire service leader.

Why did you join the fire department?

I joined the Chickahominy Vol Fire Department in Hanover County when I was 14 after talking with an Assistant Chief and the Chief. I thought it would be a fun activity, which has now become my full-time career.

What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire department?

Spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy playing golf and hunting.

What do you like best about being part of the fire department?

The Camaraderie and friendships I have established over the years, I also like being able to give back to the community.

What is your most memorable incident?

Fire: My First Fire ever was 17 degrees outside, and as the water hit the ground while the trucks were filling up, it was freezing in a matter of seconds. We also have a firefighter injured in this incident, which was an arson fire in a single-family residence.
EMS: I was an EMS Supervisor for a commercial EMS System, and we had two male patients shot; one was shot in the face, and the other was shot in the chest. The area was crowded with people and tested our system's ability to react and provide quality care.
